  SCHOOL NEWS :  (taken from St. Joseph Bulletin - 5/11/08)

"Congratulations to one of our sixth grade boys who won First Place in the city-wide "Youth Speaks Out" contest.  He was one of 12 finalists to compete out of 956 entries for grades 6 - 8.

On Tuesday, May 13, St. Joseph School will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the dedication of the school by the late Bishop John J. Nilan, Bishop of Hartford.  One very interesting fact regarding this dedication is that on that date the school was entirely free of any indebtedness.  The children will celebrate this birthday with a party, complete with cake and ice cream sundaes.  A giant birthday card/banner signed by all two hundred and six students will be hung in front of the school and a professional photo taken of the students, staff, administration, and clergy and religious will memorialize the event.  Thank you St. Joseph Parish for you wonderful support over these 80 years!

Attention Alumni of St. Joseph School

The Alumni Homecoming Reunion on Saturday, June 7, 2008 is open to all alumni of St. Joseph School.  The day begins with registration and tours of the school from 12noon - 2pm., a special Mass of Thanksgiving at 2pm, a cocktail hour and separate class receptions from 3:30pm - 4:30pm, and a deluxe cookout under the tents on the parish grounds from 4:30 - 7:30pm.  A letter with all of the information was mailed two weeks ago.  If you have not received your letter, please call the Parish Office (924-8611).
