Our Mission Statement....
Philosophy of St. Joseph Catholic School - Saint Joseph Catholic School exists for the purpose of holistic education for its students so that each student may learn to become a vital and important member of God's Kingdom as well as the community in which he or she lives. Saint Joseph Catholic School offers a quality education to each student. This quality is a result of the professional training and education of faculty members who present students with a challenge to learn. The Gospel values of Jesus Christ are to be of highest importance and intertwined are the virtues of love, justice and peace. The curriculum, in accordance with the regulations of the State of Connecticut and Diocese of Bridgeport, is well planned and balanced. Parents are regarded as the primary educators of their children. Administration, faculty and staff consider themselves as supporters to parents in their role. Saint Joseph Catholic School welcomes any child, regardless of race or creed. While the traditions of the Roman Catholic church as taught and upheld, each child is encouraged to find a deeper understanding of God through prayer, instruction, and worship. Those students who are not members of the Roman Catholic Church are encouraged to be faithful to their own religious convictions and conscience.
We believe, as did the nation's bishops in the pastoral "To Teach as Jesus
Did", that "Of the educational programs available to the Catholic Community,
Catholic schools afford the fullest and best opportunity to realize the
purpose of Christian education among children and young people". Saint
Joseph Catholic School strives to create a quality moral education on all
grade levels.
